Oi!
It's all socks, all the time around here, as I continue to struggle with finding an appropriate yarn for my giftee.
Sometime during the middle of the week, I received the Lorna's Laces in Cranberry, and unfortunately, it wasn't what I was hoping for. Don't get me wrong, the yarn is gorgeous and looks like it'd be a dream to knit, but it's just too damn dark for my bright-colour loving pal. So I get to keep it. Isn't it lush?
Of course, red is notoriously difficult to photograph, so I scootched it around in photoshop a little. It's a bit browny for me, but if I hate it after I've knitted it... well, that's what overdying is for. :D
I've now ordered Colinette Jitterbug in Fire for the sockpal. This may be my only chance to ever use Jitterbug for socks, as it has got notoriously low meterage. Unlike me, however, sockpal has small feet, so it should work. :)
With the varigated, the pattern is probably going to be something ribby, like Retro Rib. Maybe Monkey, if I decide to jump on that particular bandwagon.
Finally, here's my second Regia Bamboo sock. I love this yarn so much! It's cheerful and splotchy.
(I had to blast this photo with the curves tool to get the colours even remotely close to their cheerful state. Silly rainy day!)
Um, letsee, 2x2 rib with a Japanese short-row heel. I still have yet to bind off the first sock. Whoops.
Also? I got this in the mail today from a friend. For the win!
However? I think it's a secret ploy to get me to wear more pink. Hm? *shifty eyes*

I love the color of your bamboo as well... And am intrigued by the idea of bamboo in sock yarn. I have some in towels and love it. Is it knitting up nicely? is it awkward to use? also wonder how it will wear, but obviously you don't know yet lol...
ohhhh--I haven't knit with jitterbug yet, but I fondle it often in the yarn store. They have some really fun colorways. It sure looks like it will be bright enough.
lissa: While the yarn itself's a bit splitty, it's nice to knit with, but dropped stitches can be a real pain, as there isn't enough wool to make the plies cling to each other.
Also, I hope it will make good summer socks, as it is apparently good at wicking!
That bamboo yarn is very pretty - and yowzah! that jitterbug!
on this end, things are progressing apace. (Which is to say, slowly. heh. but I have plans, oh yes...)
Sneaky sneaky sock pal
Well, I can dream, can't I? The cranberry Lorna's Laces is divine. Mebbe I should just give in and go with the flow... ;-)
MUAHHAHAHAHHHAHAA! possibly.
no, but really, it was because it was the only one in the shop that wasn't in a completely minking colourway. and also it's purple, and you like purple, right? right? :D
yay pink :)
your socks look great!
